Don't wait for the perfect time: Starting your healthy lifestyle journey can seem overwhelming and you may feel that you need to wait for a better time to start. For example, you may be going through something stressful or are busy with life, work, family etc., but believe me if you wait for everything to be perfect before making a healthy lifestyle change you will never get there. There is no better time to start then right now. With the tools by signing up to my program you will find the motivation to start your health journey today. The best part is whatever else your going through or working towards, you will be able to even better achieve those goals as well, because you will be feeling better about yourself mentally and physically.
2. Set achievable goals: Start with a plan and at least three SMART Goals. This stands for specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. For example if you haven't worked out in a while, you should not plan to spend 7 days in the gym working out for three hours a day. Instead set a goal for yourself such as, "I will take a brisk walk 3 days a week for the next 2 weeks". After the two weeks evaluate your progress and set a better goal, and if you walked more in those two weeks, even better! The point is to keep setting goals you can achieve and then setting new more challenging goals as you progress.
3. Expect Setbacks and keep going: Whenever we are trying to reach a goal it is inevitable that setbacks will occur. The point is to not let a setback derail your entire progress. For example, if you end up eating a meal outside of your nutrition plan, don't think, "well now I will just eat an entire tub of ice-cream since I already slipped up on my meal plan". Another example is the scale, don't get hyper focused on the number. Weight loss isn't always exactly linear there are ups and downs that are expected. A daily increase of 1-2 lbs. does not mean you're not making progress, there are many factors that can contribute to minor fluctuations such as fluid balance throughout the day or week. Stick to your plan and you will reach your goals, don't give up, and roll with the setbacks.
